Yes, I did rent a Jeep. It’s about $100 for a half day and $150 for a whole day.

Did you rent the Jeep? I prefer not to tow and would like to do this area again. The rest of the ‘Million Dollar Highway’ north will be a bit more exciting. ENJOY! and be safe.

A couple things.
– we also were traveling from Arizona to Illinois in my wife’s stock Jeep and decided to check out Silverton on the way. We headed to the same mining towns only we were not smart enough to turn around and ended going thru Engineers Pass. Quite an experience I don’t care to repeat. Rain or a flat tire we would have been SOL.

– We purchased a view last year. Can you comment in your blog about if you had to use biodiesel, if so any problems to report.
