Wash away my troubles, wash away my pain, I’m on the road to Shambala! Not the exact song phasing, but close enough because it feels so good to be on the road again. After being parked for the past month, we packed up and rolled the RV west on I-10 clicking off over 425 miles to the Florida panhandle. I always love the start of a new adventure. New roads to drive, new places to see, new people to meet.

I really like driving my new RV. I’m sitting up high, the seats are more comfortable than the Roadtrek and it has a huge 7 in built in radio/GPS screen that tells me where to go. Fuel mileage has been very good averaging between 15-17mpg, Its only 3 ft long than my Roadtrek van but feels like it has some much living space. Its my new home away from home.
Navarre is our first destination to see the stunning sunsets and turquoise green waters of the gulf . We’re spending a few days at Emerald Beach RV Park to revisit some sites and to time our entry into Louisiana. We want to get to Eunice, LA on a Saturday night to be able to see the Rendez-Vous Des Cajuns at the Liberty Theater (more on this in a future post).
Emerald Beach RV Park is a lovely place to spend a few nights. Its right on the water facing south. The place is always immaculate and the staff is super friendly. Each site has a large concrete pad, full hook-ups, cable TV, and free wifi. The sites all close but have plenty of space to spend out. Here’s the view from our door and some shots of the park.
We were in Navarre last year and enjoyed the Gulf Island National Seashore, visiting Pensacola, and the National Naval Air Museum. Not much culture in this first stop but some fun things to repeat in the next few days.
