We’re just about to wrap up our stay at Fort Myers Beach.  We had a nice stay.  The people in the park and all the people I met were super friendly.  Our weather was pretty good with several days getting up into the 70’s.  I got a chance to get in a few beach days letting me forget that it was winter back in New England.  I was also able to bicycle just about everyday.  Here are some more pictures of our stay.

The next phase of Operation Snowbird has us moving up to St. Augustine Beach for the month of February.  We like this area and have been spending part go the winter there for the past 6 years.  I made the plans for St. Augustine prior to buying the new RV, so we’ll be in a oceanfront condo (same place we’ve stayed for the past 3 years) while we’re there.  The RV will go into a storage spot and wait for our Spring Tour to start (a future post will outline this trip).

I posted a blog entry on our stay at St. Augustine last year. Your can read it at this link St. Augustine Winter Sojourn.  I’m looking forward to walks on the wide beach, purple haze smoothies at Stir It Up, $2 taco lunches, Wednesday’s Farmers Market, and the Beach Bucket lunches at Smokin Dee’s barbecue.  I’ll also continue my biking.

St. Augustine is about an hour’s drive north of Daytona and we’ll be there during Race Week.  I love the kickoff to the NASCAR season and already have my tickets to some of the races at Daytona.  Can’t wait to see the drivers, hear the roar of the engines, and see some of the new changes they’re making at the speedway.

Boogity, boogity, boogity!
